Wrang Leads Into Day 4

Day 3 saw the return of 99 players (not red balloons) with 11 of them due to have a relatively short win-less day since only 88 would be picking up the minimum cash payment of €7,500. After nearly seven levels of action it was PokerStars qualifier Jannick Wrang who finished at the top of the tree with 1,742,000. Other big names still in are Fabrice Soulier (1,230,000), Olivier Busquet (973,000) and David Vamplew (747,000). Wrang was one of several players who held the chip lead in the latter part of the day as it was passed around like a hot potato.

The day started with no less than eight former EPT champions including the last two remaining Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. Both managed to make the money but neither could reach the end of the day, ElkY running kings into aces before his pocket sixes lost out to Andrey Gulyy's ace-five, the latter rivering a wheel to knock out the Frenchman. Boeree lasted longer but finally came undone when she called all in on the river of a 6-4-6-3-K against Olivier Busquet and got shown K-6 for her troubles.

Six other former EPT champions also made the money: David Vamplew, Rupert Elder, Martin Finger, Ronny Kaiser, Nicolas Chouity and Roberto Romanello but of them only Kaiser and Vamplew have managed to progress to Day 4 with hopes of becoming the EPT's first ever double champion.

It didn't take too long for the tournament to progress to the bubble stage, Benas Molis proving to be the unlucky man. He had bet/three-bet with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} on a {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board against Wrang and when the latter had pushed all in, Molis felt himself committed and called it off against his opponent's {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The {A-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing and the {5-Spades} gave Wrang a full house and everyone else bar Molis a guaranteed cash prize.

Busquet briefly took the lead before Wrang also had a go at the top when he held flush against flush, Stefan Czischke the victim. Alexandre Andermatt was next, he won the classic flip with queens against ace-king to knock out former Grand Final winner Nicolas Chouity, the latter managed to hit both his hole cards but Andermatt flopped a set of queens which held.

Andermatt would then lose a million chip pot himself when Fabrice Soulier's {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} outflopped the Swiss player's queens and Wrang would regain the chip lead to finish the day on top.

Tomorrow we'll play down to our final table, join us from 2pm (CET).

Juri Pietroboni Busts To End The Day

[user169806] • Ниво 21: 6,000-12,000, 1,000 ante

The elimination of Juri Pietroboni has brought the super-long Day 3 to an end. He found himself all in with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} against the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} of Olivier Busquet. The board ran out {3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and with that we are down to 24 players.

Another Crazy Hand, Another Double

The long day? The late night? Something in the air? What ever it is,some strange and crazy hands are being played out.

Robin Ylitalo opened from the cut-off and called a Jose Manuel Nadal three-bet from the big blind. Nadal bet flop, turn and shoved the river. The final board read {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and by the river Ylitalo had 376,000 left. He took his time and made a great call with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. Nadal only had {8-Spades}{4-Spades} and looked to the heavens as if to say, "What did I just do?"

He was left with 81,000 and shipped them in from the small blind the next hand. Kaiser called with {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} but was dominated by Nadal's {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. The board ran {4-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts} to see Kaiser flop two-pair but immediately fall back behind on the turn.

Busquet Suffers Body Blow

It's another major outdraw for a big pot to keep another player in. The chips went flying in on a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-} flop between Stefano Puccilli and Olivier Busquet - the latter holding {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} against Puccilli's {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. The {K-Clubs} hit the turn and the shock flashed into Busquet's eyes as his jaw nearly dropped, taking a couple of breaths to recover. Puccilli celebrated his double up when the {6-Hearts} hit the river.

That's the third time in a row the short stack has got it in behind and got there, not that we're counting.

Linde's Stack Gets Decimated

[user169806] • Ниво 21: 6,000-12,000, 1,000 ante

Per Linde was one of the favourites to take down the EPT Campione main event based on his experience alone but that is looking extremely unlikely now that he has been left with just 18,000 chips.

He called the all-in of Panagiotis Gavriulidis with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and must have been delighted to see his opponent turn over {K-Spades}{J-Spades}, that was until the board ran out {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to boost Gavriulidis to 500,000 and crippled Linde.

Three outers seem the order of the day right now.

Fabrice Soulier Doubles Through Andermatt

Fabrice Soulier had just doubled through Alexandre Andermatt after spiking a three-outer on the flop. A preflop raising war broke out between the two that resulted in Soulier being all-in and at risk holding {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} against the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} of Andermatt.

The {4-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} propelled Soulier into the lead and when the {J-Spades} and {2-Diamonds} appeared on the turn and river respectively the Frenchman doubled up.
