Lebanon's performance at EPT Deauville has been extraordinary, but it isn't until you see it in line-graph form that the full scale of the achievement can be really appreciated. PokerStars Blog, with lots of help from Mad Harper, take a look at the countries' progress through the tournament.

Robert Romeo Eliminated in 3rd Place (€275,000)

• Ниво 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante
Robert Romeo - 3rd place
Robert Romeo - 3rd place

Remi Castaignon raised to 250,000 preflop from the button, Robert Romeo then three-bet to 550,000 in the small blind. Walid Bou Habib got out of the way and Castaignon brought out the plaques, four-betting to an amount we weren't able to ascertain. The reason for that was that Romeo announced all in and Castaignon instantly called.

Romeo: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Castaignon: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The flop came {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Romeo needed running cards to survive. The {3-Spades} gave him some split outs but the {10-Hearts} river wasn't one of them and instead the man who qualified for just $4 has made a decent return on his investment.

Romeo Doubles Through Castaignon

Shamus • Ниво 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante

It folded to Remi Castaignon on the button who raised to 250,000, and both Robert Romeo (small blind) and Walid Bou Habib (big blind) called.

All three checked the {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} flop, then when the {2-Clubs} fell on the turn Romeo pushed out four blue plaques for a bet of 400,000. Bou Habib folded quickly, then Castaignon pushed out enough red chips to call.

The river brought the {4-Clubs} and an all-in push from Romeo, which after a short pause Castaignon called.

Romeo quickly tabled his {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} for kings and deuces, and Castaignon was made to show his hand as well — {K-Clubs}{5-Spades} for the same hand with a lesser kicker. With that double-up Romeo now has more than 30 big blinds.

Castaignon Fights Back

• Ниво 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante
Remi Castaignon
Remi Castaignon

Remi Castaignon raised preflop to 250,000 and Walid Bou Habib made the call from the big blind to see a {6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop which both players checked.

On the {K-Diamonds} turn, Bou Habib bet 275,000 and Castaignon made the call to see the {8-Hearts} on the river. Now the Lebanese player bet a strong looking 625,000 but when Castaignon reached for chips, it wasn't just for 'calling chips', it was for 'raising chips'.

The Frenchman made it 2 million and Bou Habib tanked for a couple of minutes before folding.

Jeffrey Hakim’s Run Ends in Eight Place

• Ниво 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante

Jeffrey Hakim came to the final table as perhaps the most experienced players but also as the short stack. Alas, a quick double up was not to be, but he remained pragmatic after a great week in Deauville.

Remi Castaignon opened for 250,000 from the button, and [Removed:4] rapidly reraised all in for 3,245,000. It folded back to Castaignon who snap-called, and the pair both turned over their hands.

Rudelitz: {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Castaignon: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The flop came {3-Spades}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}, then the {4-Hearts} fell on the turn and Rudelitz was down to needing one of the remaining aces to survive. The dealer then put turned over the river card — the {5-Spades} — and after leading early on today the young German has been knocked out in fourth

Rude Awakening for Romeo

• Ниво 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante

[Removed:4] made it 275,000 from the small blind and Robert Romeo called in the big blind to see a flop of {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Rudelitz surprisingly checked and Romeo bet 450,000 only for the German youngster to check-raise all in for just over 2 million chips.

Romeo lost interest in the hand and gave it up about a minute later.

Leaders Collide

Shamus • Ниво 31: 60,000-120,000, 20,000 ante

Remi Castaignon raised to 250,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to Walid Bou Habib who called from the big blind. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Bou Habib checked, Castaignon bet 325,000, and Bou Habib called.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and a check from Bou Habib, and Castaignon checked as well. The river then brought a Broadway card — the {Q-Clubs} — and one more check from Bou Habib. Castaignon took the opening to push out a nearly pot-sized bet of 1.2 million.

Bou Habib paused about a half-minute, then asked the dealer to spread the pot full of chips and plaques about in order to get a better idea what was there. He waited a while longer, then finally checked his hand one last time before tossing the cards away.
