The board read and Ping San Chan had made a pot sized bet of 82,000. Facing the bet was Dan Smith.
He agonised over it for several minutes as it represented a third of his stack to call and it was a big pot to give up. The calling chips were cut out and in his hand. He put them down again and held his cards in his hands to fold. Indecision wracked him.
“Sorry.” he said and in the end had to forcibly push the cards away towards the dealer.
No emotion flickered across Chan’s face as he collected the pot and released his hand to the dealer.
